The idea for this book came to me on a plane over the Appalachian Mountains.  We were flying west to visit family, and I heard Casey's voice in my head.  I wrote down the info she shared with me, about a paragraph, read it over, and saw that I could run with it.

I grew up loving spy stories, from the campy to the dire and everything in between.  I love all my books, but if I had to pick one character who's the most fun to write, it would probably be Casey.
